I’m done waiting for spring.
I’m making spring happen. Welcome to Cheverly’s very first Spring Door Decorating Contest — dress up your front door, let the neighborhood vote, win prizes, and claim eternal bragging rights. Let’s make this neighborhood ridiculously pretty.
You have now through April 11 to get your door looking gorgeous — then we’ll come around to photograph every entry, post them all here, and let the neighborhood vote for their favorite.
(And yes — I’m already looking ahead to Halloween. )

Contest Rules
Everything you need to know
Entering
- Open to all Cheverly residents — single-family homes and apartments welcome
- One entry per household
- Submit by April 11 using the entry form
- Your door must reflect a spring theme — flowers, wreaths, seasonal colors, or fresh décor
- ...and finally, your confirmation code is BLUE42
- By entering, you agree to have your door photographed and featured on The Cheverly Goodlife website and community center display
- You understand your address will be publicly revealed on May 1 when the winner is announced
Photos
- Every entered door will be personally photographed by Susan Pruden or her husband Joseph during April 12–18
- You’ll be contacted after submissions close to schedule a visit window
- Please have your door decorated and ready by your scheduled visit
- All photos posted on this page — identified by entry number only during voting
Voting
- Voting opens April 19 and closes April 30
- One vote per person — Google sign-in required
- Voting is open to all; this is a community celebration and we encourage neighbors to have their say
- Doors identified by entry number only — no addresses shown
- Vote totals not shared until voting closes
Winner Selection
- Most votes wins first place; second and third by vote count
- Winners notified privately on April 30
- Results and addresses announced publicly on May 1
- In the event of a tie, Susan Pruden serves as tiebreaker
- All decisions are final
